How does online shopping work?
Online Shopping is now extremely popular. However it can seem daunting for inexperienced users. To purchase, simply click on the ADD TO BASKET icon. This does not commit you to buy; you can still add more items to the basket or remove any or all items from it at any time by clicking on the VIEW BASKET button.

If you decide to buy the contents of your shopping basket simply click on the CHECKOUT button. For new buyers, signing up for a PayPal account is optional. This means you can complete your payments first, and then decide whether to save your information in a PayPal account for future purchases.

This is how it works...

  • Enter your name and shipping address.

  • You will be prompted for your credit card, email address, and phone number.

  • (Optional) After reviewing your information, you may choose to save your information by creating a PayPal account to make future transactions faster.

  • Is Paypal safe?
We have taken all possible steps to secure your Credit Card details and the payment transactions. PayPal protects your financial information with industry-leading security and fraud prevention systems. When you use PayPal, your financial information is not shared with the merchant. Once your payment is complete, you will be emailed a receipt for this transaction.

    Are your chocolates gluten free?
Generally, none of our chocolates or macaroons contain gluten, except for the Caramel Truffles. If you are unsure, please email us at sales@ilzeschocolat.com.

Do you offer a greeting card service with your products?
Yes, you can now order a greeting card to go out with any gifts that you have ordered from us. Select your style of greeting card from the "Other Products" page and add this to your basket. Then, email us at sales@ilzeschocolat.com with the specific message that you want us to write on the card. Please remember to tell us the way in which you want the recipient to be addressed (e.g. "Dear Peter") and how you want the sender to be identified (e.g. "With love, Mavis").

How long does it take for my order to be delivered?
We have two delivery options: First Class Royal Mail, which should reach you within two days from the time that we dispatch your order; and Next Business Day, which guarntees delivery (to 95% of the UK) by 1pm on the next day, provided we receive your order by 8am. For more information, see under Other Products.

What is the shelf life of the chocolates and macaroons?
Normally the date by which we recommend that you consume the products are indicated on a small white batch label on the packaging. But as a guideline, our chocolate bars have long shelf lives (3 months to a year), the signature range chocolates and truffles should be consumed within about 5 to 6 weeks and the macaroons last for about a week maximum. Of course temperature, humidity and direct sunlight are all factors that would decrease the life of the products.

How should we store the chocolates to ensure maximum shelf life?
All our chocolate products should be stored at about 19 to 20 degrees Celsius, away from direct sunlight and at low humidity. We do not recommend storing them in the fridge, for three reasons: (1) chocolates that are too cold, do not melt easily in the mouth and therefore does not have the same lively taste; (2) the humidity in a normal fridge is usually too high and could cause fat bloom (whitening of the chocolate surface); and good chocolate has a tendency to absorb other odours that may be around in the fridge.
